I'm not exactly sure what this is, but my geographer friend said I need one for the project I'm working on, about Paris.
Any idea where to find one?
Or does someone have to make it for me?

    GIS = Geographic Information Systems.

    There is a lot of software relating to the above that is available. Check out www.gis.com
