Does anyone here have any suggestions for good books on map history? I'm still pretty new to this and would appreciate any input.
Many thanks,
Ken

Re: Book suggestions
Mon, October 3, 2005 - 5:01 PMNot tooting the ESRI horn...but we just released this book that I think is pretty cool if you are into maps and medicine.
Its called Cartographies of Disease: Maps, Mapping, and Medicine by Tom Koch. Some of the chapters cover early histories of medical mapping, the London epidemics of the 1830's, cholera, etc.
Often, ESRI press books come from a software angle, but this one is not in that vein. Though it is not my personal area of interest, its still a pretty fascinating book. And lots of old medical map reprints!
