SimCity Fans?

I am a huge SimCity fan. Are there any others out there who simply love this game, and would like to see it take on a more "professional" electronic-gaming role?

Sim City on Super Nintendo was my favorite for years.

SC 2k was off the hook for a decade.

I didn’t play SC3k much but I just got Sim City 4 a few months ago with the Rush hour Expansion pack and that is the best one I have ever owned!

It is a lot harder but once you get the hang of things your city can be pimp!

Like this guys replica of the Bay Area!

I am glad to have met other SimCity fans. I, too, have SimCity 4 with the expansion pack. What I find, which I'm sure, Mobber, that you've found this out on the fan sites, is that starting out with low density and building out before building up is the best way to go. When I use that pattern, I find that I have so much more revenue to spend on expensive mass transportation infrastructure, education and healthcare projects. I used this pattern on one of my cities called "Northport" and I was able to accumulate close to 3.5 million simoleans with a population of merely 30,000 over 15 years. Then, I was able to introduce an integrated public transportation system, while at the same time changing over to medium and high density. Now, after playing for just three weeks (real time, lol), "Northport's" population has grown to 75,000 and that is rapidly increasing.

Another model that I have used more with SC3 is to have industrial zones in your city core, then as the residential demand grows, you slowly move industrial zones to the outskirts of the city, replacing the industrial tiles with residential. So, you're literally swapping. That way, you don't lose too much revenue. Now, I haven't tried it on SC4 yet, but I plan to when I build my next city.

      Happy Planning! lol
